November is in full swing and I’m excited to spend time reflecting on what I’m thankful for in my life. Change Makers, how do you practice gratitude in your lives? For me, I spend time thinking about the people who make me feel loved and what I can do to always be there for them, too. That’s why this November, I’m partnering with the GO2 Foundation to help fund research and awareness about lung cancer. You might’ve heard of the Go2 Foundation as a merger of the Lung Cancer Alliance and Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation. Partner Spotlight: Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF)

We can all get so busy during the span of just one month that sometimes we forget to reflect on what’s going on around us. I often think about how cancer can seem to take away all of a person’s time. Since October is coming to a close in about a week, I’d like to spotlight my charity partner for this month: the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). What makes the BCRF special? They’re a nonprofit committed to finding the best ways to prevent and cure breast cancer. Not only do they provide funding for cancer research worldwide, but they also fund survivorship programs designed for people with an increased risk for developing breast cancer.

Caregiver Support: How To Be the Best Caregiver For The Ones Who Need You

Caregiving is one of the toughest, emotionally charged and sometimes thankless jobs. Whether you're a caregiver for a loved one or it's your profession, you're serving people who need you and giving so much of yourself- that should be applauded. You're taking care of someone who is sick, making sure they have their medicines, eat right, sleep, don't sleep, move around, take them to the bathroom, and so many other things. Most of us aren’t sure what to do when someone we know is diagnosed with cancer. It’s a struggle know what to say and think of ideas or things to help. When caring for my grandpa while he was sick, I saw first hand the affects of the actions people took or didn’t take. The happiness it brought our family when friends and neighbors went out of their way to be kind and offer us help was immeasurable.
